Our new, colour coded, Plain Safe guides are designed to help you get the most out of your SSSP packs and ensure you comply with health and safety requirements.
What's new?
Site Safe has worked together with industry to launch new targeted colour coded SSSP guides.
These free, downloadable guides explain the purpose, requirements and use of each of the SSSP forms in your Whero (Red), Kākāriki (Green) or Kōwhai (Yellow) pack to support you in establishing and maintaining a safe construction site.
The new SSSP Plain Safe, Straight-Talking Guides contain:
- background on the role SSSP plays in health and safety planning and compliance
- a clear explanation of your place in the PCBU structure
- a list of the forms included in your SSSP pack
- a descriptor for each SSSP form
- a list of documents or information that you’ll need to ‘have at hand’
- step by step requirements for filling in each form
- a ‘jargonbuster’ to help make sense of the words that are flying around the job-site

Use the RED SSSP pack if YOU are:
- effectively the Main Contractor (PCBU 1)
- working under your own agreement / contract with your client
- working under your own Health and Safety Management Systems, Processes and Procedures
- providing evidence of your own due diligence

Use the GREEN SSSP pack if YOU are:
- directly contracted to the Main Contractor (PCBU 1)
- working under the contractual agreement of the Main Contractor (PCBU 1)
- working under Health and Safety Management Systems, Processes and Procedures of the Main Contractor (PCBU 1)
- required to provide evidence of due diligence to the Main Contractor (PCBU 1)

- a business enterprise with your own internal Health and Safety Management Systems, Processes and Procedures
- working ‘parallel’ to the Main Contractor (PCBU 1)
- working under your own Health and Safety Management Systems, Processes and Procedures while abiding by the Health and Safety Management Systems, Processes and Procedures of the Main Contractor (PCBU 1)
